Job summary

Ascension St. Joseph Hospital Chicago is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner for general neurology, joining a stable medical group with excellent support.

The role includes outpatient and inpatient duties, a collaborative team, and a comprehensive benefits package. Base salary ranges from $120,000 to $140,000 with a $3,000 CME allowance, eligibility for state medical license and DEA registration, and tail malpractice coverage.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider certification within 30 days of hire date.
• Nurse Practitioner credentialed by Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible.

Responsibilities

• Obtain patient history and perform assessment; order and interpret diagnostic studies.
• Provide direct treatment and management; coordinate care with other providers.
• Counsel patients and families on prevention and treatment options.
• Document care in accordance with specialty standards and network policy.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Obtains patient history and performs assessment via observation, interview and examination. Orders, performs and interprets diagnostic studies. Performs preventative health assessments, screening, immunizations and patient care.
• Provides direct treatment and management of health conditions via referral to other healthcare providers or community resources.
• Counsels and educates patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options and community resources.
• Documents delivery of health care and nursing processes in accordance with specific specialty area standards and network nursing policy.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Required Credential(s):
  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Nurse Practitioner credentialed from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• Preferred Credential(s):
  • Registered Nurse.

Education

• Master's degree of Nursing required.
