Job summary

Ascension is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Family Medicine physician to join an established team in a busy outpatient practice in Illinois. You will work alongside an experienced Advanced Practice Provider, participate in an office call rotation, and provide full-spectrum care from pediatrics to adults in a single, convenient location.

The role emphasizes high-quality service, strong office support, and opportunities for professional growth within Ascension's national Catholic health

Qualifications

• MD/DO credentialed by Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation before hire
• Advanced Life Support required or preferred (American Heart Association/American Red Cross)
• Board certification or eligibility for family medicine
• Licensed for state medical practice and DEA/Controlled Substances registration

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat patients in outpatient family medicine clinic.
• Participate in cost and quality improvement initiatives.
• Contribute to academic programs (education/research) as requested.
• Ensure accurate documentation meeting insurer requirements and address denials promptly.
• Participation in inpatient/outpatient consultations and on-call schedules possible

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Evaluates and treats patients with appropriate medical diagnostic and treatment skills.
• Recommends, participates in, and works to ensure the success of efforts to improve cost effectiveness and quality of care provided to patients.
• Participates in academic programs (e.g. medical education and research) as requested.
• Provides appropriate documentation that meets insurance company requirements. Appeals all denials in a timely manner.
• Opportunity to participate in inpatient and outpatient consultation for specialty, which may include on call schedules.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Required Credential(s):
  • Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• Preferred Credential(s):
  • Advanced Life Support. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.
