Job summary

The Not-for-Profit Audit Manager will join a respected public accounting firm in the Greater Chicagoland area, leading nonprofit audits and mentoring audit teams. You will manage engagements from planning through reporting, build strong client relationships, and provide recommendations to improve internal controls and financial reporting.

Ideal candidates have 5–7+ years in nonprofit or public accounting, a CPA is preferred, and a commitment to ongoing technical development and work-life balance

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field; master's preferred.
• 5–7+ years of audit experience in public accounting.
• Experience managing audits from planning to completion.
• CPA designation strongly preferred.
• Strong GAAP/GAAS knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage nonprofit audit engagements across clients.
• Oversee planning, fieldwork, financial reporting, and deliverables.
• Develop engagement budgets, staffing plans, timelines.
• Mentor and supervise audit staff; review workpapers.
• Maintain awareness of nonprofit regulatory requirements.
