Aspire Talent Solutions is seeking an Audit Manager specializing in Not-for-Profit organizations to lead engagements in the Chicagoland area. You’ll manage planning, fieldwork, and reporting while mentoring staff and building long-term client relationships.

The ideal candidate has 5–7+ years in public accounting, strong GAAP/GAAS knowledge, and a CPA. Not-for-profit experience is highly valued, with opportunities for advancement within a collaborative culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting; master's degree a plus.
• 5–7+ years of audit experience within a public accounting firm.
• Experience managing audit engagements from planning through completion.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, GAAS, and financial statement preparation.
• Experience supervising, reviewing, and developing audit staff.
• Excellent client relationship management, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple engagements, deadlines, and priorities.
• CPA designation strongly preferred.
• Previous nonprofit or tax-exempt audit experience.
• Familiarity with nonprofit financial reporting, internal controls, and compliance requirements.
• Experience preparing or reviewing IRS Form 990.
• Knowledge of nonprofit tax matters and related regulatory requirements.

Responsabilités

• Lead and manage audit engagements for a diverse nonprofit client portfolio.
• Oversee all phases of audit engagements from planning to final deliverables.
• Develop audit strategies, budgets, staffing plans, and timelines.
• Review financial statements, footnotes, and audit workpapers for accuracy.
• Ensure engagements comply with professional standards and deadlines.
• Resolve complex accounting issues through research and consultation.
• Serve as primary contact for nonprofit audit clients and maintain strong relationships.
• Provide recommendations to improve financial reporting and internal controls.
• Coach and mentor audit associates and senior accountants.
