Job summary

Food Management Search, Inc. is recruiting an Audit Manager specialized in Not-for-Profit organizations to lead audits for a diverse nonprofit client base in the Greater Chicagoland area.

The role offers ownership of engagements, mentoring of teams, and the opportunity to build long-term nonprofit relationships. You will supervise staff, review workpapers, and ensure compliance with GAAP/GAAS while guiding clients on financial reporting improvements and internal controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field is required.
• 5–7+ years of audit experience in a public accounting firm.
• Demonstrated experience managing audit engagements from planning through completion.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and GAAS; experience with financial statement preparation.
• Experience supervising, reviewing, and developing audit staff.
• Excellent client relationship management, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple engagements, deadlines, and priorities.

Responsibilities

• Audit Engagement Management: lead and manage audit engagements for nonprofit clients, overseeing planning, fieldwork, financial reporting, and deliverables.
• Client Relationship Management: act as primary contact for nonprofit clients, build relationships, communicate progress and recommendations to leadership.
• Team Leadership & Development: supervise and mentor staff, review workpapers, allocate resources, and support professional growth.
• Nonprofit Accounting & Compliance: apply nonprofit accounting standards, review Form 990 filings, and stay updated on regulatory developments.
