Confidential CPA Firm in the Greater Chicagoland area seeks an experienced Audit Manager specializing in Not-for-Profit organizations to lead nonprofit audits and manage client engagements. The role offers ownership of engagements, mentorship for staff, and opportunities for advancement in a collaborative, growth-oriented environment.

The ideal candidate has 5–7+ years in public accounting with strong GAAP/GAAS knowledge, client-relations skills, and a track record of delivering high-quality

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field; master's degree a plus.
• 5–7+ years of audit experience within a public accounting firm.
• Experience managing audit engagements from planning through completion.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, GAAS, and financial statement preparation.
• Experience supervising, reviewing, and developing audit staff.
• Excellent client relationship management, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple engagements, deadlines, and priorities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage audit engagements for nonprofit clients, overseeing planning, fieldwork, financial reporting, and final deliverables.
• Develop audit strategies, engagement budgets, staffing plans, and timelines.
• Review financial statements, footnotes, audit workpapers, management letters, and other attestations.
• Ensure engagements meet professional standards and deadlines, resolving issues via research and consultation.
• Provide recommendations to improve financial reporting, internal controls, and operational efficiency.
• Communicate engagement progress and findings to client leadership; collaborate with Partners on strategy.
