Job summary

HDR, Inc. seeks a Northwest Hydropower Regulatory and Environmental Manager to lead the regulatory and environmental team across the Northwest.

You will supervise staff, guide relicensing efforts, and coordinate with clients, agencies, and regulators to deliver compliant, high‑impact results. You will engage in project management for complex relicensing programs, mentor team members, and contribute to HDR’s strategic growth in the hydropower sector.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in environmental permitting or regulatory management.
• Professional registration or license may be required depending on role.
• Strong communication and listening skills are essential.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
• Demonstrated leadership and organizational abilities.
• Active participation in HDR's employee-owned culture is a must.

Responsibilities

• Lead HDR's Northwest hydropower regulatory and environmental team and supervise staff.
• Coordinate relicensing services in the Northwest region with cross‑functional teams.
• Serve as primary liaison with clients, agencies and stakeholders for projects.
• Direct project management for mid to large sized, complex relicensing efforts.
• Drive business development and maintain high technical and regulatory standards.
• Provide Senior QA/QC oversight for relicensing services and reviews.
• Lead meetings, prepare regulatory deliverables, and represent HDR at public hearings.
