Job summary

LANXESS, a leading specialty chemicals company, is seeking a Director of Business Development NORAM on behalf of SALTIGO to expand its custom manufacturing business across North America. Based in Pittsburgh, you will build executive-level partnerships with pharma and biotech customers and drive strategic regional growth with SALTIGO’s capabilities in chemical synthesis, process development, and scale‑up.

Qualifications

• Degree in chemistry, biology, pharmacology, or a comparable field.
• 3–5 years of professional pharma industry experience, including CDMO exposure.
• Proven success in new business acquisition across North America.
• Strong networking, communication, market analysis and competitive intelligence skills.
• Frequent business travel will be required.

Responsibilities

• Identify, approach, and qualify new customers and project opportunities in defined pharmaceutical and biotechnology segments.
• Build market intelligence, account maps, and target lists for North America.
• Develop customer relationships and advance opportunities through technical and commercial evaluation.
• Cooperate with the pharma sales and marketing team to maximize customer acquisition.
• Identify opportunities for commercialization in adjacent custom manufacturing and catalog products.
• Maintain accurate CRM data, visit reports, opportunity tracking, and pipeline documentation.
• Strengthen market visibility through relevant trade fairs, conferences, and seminars.
