Job summary

Sealed Air seeks a North America Director of Environment, Health, Safety & Sustainability to lead EHS strategy across 48+ facilities. You will partner with Operations, Engineering, and Maintenance to advance safety, compliance, and risk reduction while guiding capital investments and environmental initiatives.

Expect ~60% travel across North America, strong executive communication, and a focus on standardization of EHS systems and performance metrics to drive sustainable growth and operational

Qualifications

• Significant progressive EHS leadership experience in manufacturing.
• Experience leading EHS across multiple facilities at NA scale.
• Technical depth in machine safety, guarding, LOTO and energy control.
• Experience with capital investments and risk-based CAPEX decisions.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA/EPA regulatory requirements (DOT/NFPA familiarity optional).
• Experience implementing enterprise EHS management systems and metrics.
• Ability to lead EHS teams and influence senior operations leaders.
• Change-management experience with rolling out new systems and standards.
• Willingness to travel ~60% across North America.
• Bachelor’s degree in related field; advanced degree or certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of North America EHS&S strategy across a multi-site manufacturing network.
• Strengthen and standardize EHS management systems, policies, governance, audits, CAPA, and global standards deployment.
• Identify and reduce manufacturing risks: machine safety, guarding, LOTO, electrical safety, contractor safety, serious injuries and fatalities.
• Partner with Operations, Engineering, and Maintenance to integrate EHS into plant operations and projects.
• Lead CAPEX prioritization and risk-based business cases for significant projects.
• Drive environmental compliance and sustainability across the region.
• Establish and monitor EHS KPIs, audit findings, incident trends, and corrective actions to reduce systemic risks.
• Coach Regional EHS Managers and site teams to ensure accountability and consistency.
• Influence Plant Managers and senior executives without direct authority.
• Lead incident investigations, root-cause analysis, CAPA, and risk-reduction initiatives.
• Support EHS integration for acquisitions and major projects.
• Foster a culture where Operations owns risk and EHS is a strategic partner.
