Job summary

Volunteers of America–Greater New York in New York, NY is seeking a Special Events Associate to assist with planning and execution of a range of internal and external events, including galas, awards, and engagement activities. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required with 2+ years of professional experience in event planning, fundraising operations, project management or in a related capacity.
• Experience with Raiser’s Edge or other donor databases.
• Capable of building relationships with donors, volunteers, and program teams.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the Annual Gala, Shared Value Awards, monthly employee engagement events, Board of Directors Holiday Party, Annual Domestic Violence Symposium, and other policy conferences or development events.
• Prepare briefing documents and fact sheets for Executive Leadership.
• Research and coordinate venues for large and small events, communicate with vendors, venues, and volunteers.
• Maintain attendee records, RSVP tracking, and post-event data collection for reporting.
• Process event-related invoices and billing; post-event contract administration and reconciliation.
• Coordinate donation pickups/deliveries across program sites and provide on-site support as needed.
