Job summary

Samaritan Daytop Village, Inc. is seeking a Grant and Budget Specialist to oversee grant administration and budgeting across programs in New York. You’ll partner with Development and Finance to formulate annual budgets, monitor spending, and ensure funder compliance with reporting requirements.

This full-time hybrid role requires coordination across departments, input of budgets into finance systems, and timely funder reporting. Strong Excel and data accuracy are essential.

Qualifications

• Strong written and verbal communication skills across departments.
• Experience with budget assistance, grant administration, or financial record-keeping.
• Familiarity with accounting software, financial databases, and budgeting principles.
• High accuracy in financial data entry and cost allocation.
• Ability to track grant expenditures and ensure funder compliance.

Responsibilities

• Assist with formulating budgets, spending plans, and grant applications for public and private funding.
• Monitor grant expenditures within timelines to ensure full budget utilization and compliance.
• Advise departments on expense coding, cost centers, and budget mandates.
• Input approved budgets into financial databases and tracking systems.
• Prepare programmatic and fiscal reports required by funders.
• Collaborate with Finance, Development, and Programs to align spending with goals.

Education

Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting/Business
