Zusammenfassung

Mental Health America of South Central Kansas is seeking an Accountant to coordinate and perform accounting, reporting, reconciliation, cash-management, and financial-control activities to support accurate records and timely reporting.

Under the supervision of the Controller, you will oversee accounts payable processing, general-ledger activity, bank reconciliations, and daily cash requirements, while ensuring compliance with GAAP and nonprofit grant reporting standards.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field required.
• Progressively responsible accounting experience with general ledger, reconciliations, audit support, and internal controls.
• Working knowledge of GAAP and nonprofit grant reporting requirements.
• Proficiency with accounting systems and Microsoft Excel; ability to learn supporting software.
• Strong analytical, reconciliation, documentation, problem-solving, organization, communication, and time-management skills.
• Ability to manage competing deadlines, exercise sound judgment, maintain confidentiality, and produce accurate work with limited supervision.
• Experience coordinating accounting staff or overseeing AR/AP/payroll is preferred.

Aufgaben

• Assists with preparation of financial statements, reports, analyses, and information reports for leadership review.
• Oversees accounts payable processing, general-ledger activity, account maintenance, and related data entry.
• Completes monthly bank reconciliations and reconciles balance-sheet accounts and subsidiary records.
• Monitors daily cash requirements and supports informed financial decision-making.
• Maintains accounting-related software and supporting systems, including donor, purchasing-card, and other platforms.
• Maintains accounting controls, records, procedures, and safeguards.
• Assists with updating the accounting policy manual and develops job aids for assigned functions.
• Maintains audit-ready records in accordance with GAAP.
