Job summary

East Central District Health Department/Good Neighbor Community Health Center is seeking an Accountant to manage daily general ledger transactions, payroll processing, and funder reporting. The role focuses on accurate, timely processing and supporting audits and compliance for nonprofit operations.

The ideal candidate will have an associate or bachelor degree in accounting or business, familiarity with GAAP, and proficiency in Microsoft Office and accounting software.

Qualifications

• Understanding of GAAP and nonprofit accounting standards.
• Proficient with MS Office and Abila/MIP or related software.
• Ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Process payroll accurately and timely.
• Post general ledger entries and maintain audit documentation.
• Complete payables tasks with proper coding and documentation.
• Support annual and funder-specific audits with documentation.
• Set up electronic funds transfers to pay expenses and receive funds.
• Process checks and/or electronic funds transfers as assigned.
• Cross-train for back-up coverage in selected areas.
• Participate in month-end and year-end procedures.
• Produce payroll and other state and federal reports as requested.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
