Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree (4 years) in Accounting or Finance. Proof of extensive experience and training in accounting may be substituted for degree.
• 6+ years progressive accounting experience, including at least 3 years in budgeting and fund accounting for governmental, nonprofit or tribal organizations including grants.
• Working knowledge of governmental funding regulations.
• Understanding of fund accounting.
• Able to handle checks, money, and sensitive material.
• Knowledge of fiscal management budgeting techniques and policies for nonprofit agencies (preferred).
• Knowledge in the medical industry (preferred).
• Valid CA Driver’s license and proof of insurance; clean DMV driving record and MACT auto insurance eligibility.
• Must adhere to MACT Health Board Inc. Corporate Code of Conduct and pass Occupational Health Screening.

Responsibilities

• Assist Finance Director & Controller with drafting End-Of-Month General Journal Entries and reviewing reports for accuracy.
• Assist in bank deposits, purchase orders, equipment tracking, invoicing and related financial duties.
• Prepare regular financial reports for staff and Board of Directors; present to committees if needed.
• Monitor budgets and prepare cost reports for submission to funding agencies.
• Identify grant opportunities and prepare grant reports; coordinate grant applications and maintenance of active status on governmental sites.
• Maintain accounting software for the Finance Department and assist with special finance projects.
