Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System is seeking a Senior Accountant for Grants to support the Finance Director. You will manage grant-related general ledger activity, ensure compliance with Uniform Guidance (2 CFR 200) and sponsor terms, and prepare related reporting and reconciliations.

Responsibilities include leading grant lifecycle activities from award setup to closeout, performing journal entries, and supporting audits. A CPA and healthcare/governmental experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field from an accredited college or university.
• 3+ years of general accounting experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage the general ledger activity for grants, including postings, reallocations, and accruals.
• Prepare grant-related financial reports, schedules, and drawings.
• Support month-end close, reconciliations, and reporting deadlines.
• Oversee grant award/setup, monitoring, reporting, and closeout, ensuring compliance with 2 CFR 200 and sponsor terms.
• Assist audits and monitoring engagements as needed.
