Job summary

The Tarrant To & Through Partnership (T3) seeks a Managing Director of Finance in Fort Worth, TX, to lead financial strategy, accounting, budgeting, grants management, and compliance.

Reporting to the COO with alignment to the CEO and Board, this role combines strategic leadership with hands-on financial oversight to strengthen operations.

The ideal candidate has a CPA, 7+ years nonprofit accounting experience (including supervision), and a collaborative, mission‑driven leadership style.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Active CPA credential required.
• Minimum of 7 years nonprofit accounting experience with supervisory responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of nonprofit GAAP, fund accounting, and grant accounting.
• Experience with grants management, compliance, and reporting.
• Experience leading budgeting, forecasting, audits, and financial operations.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks Online or comparable accounting software.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong leadership, analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee long-term financial strategies, budgets, and multi-year forecasts.
• Advise CEO/COO, Finance Committee, and Board on financial matters.
• Lead risk management, resource allocation, and internal controls.
• Oversee day-to-day accounting, monthly closes, and financial reporting.
• Manage grants budgets, reporting, compliance, and donor fund tracking.
• Supervise the finance team and cultivate a collaborative, high-performing culture.
• Oversee procurement, vendor management, and technology budgets.
• Ensure nonprofit GAAP compliance and Form 990 preparation.
