Job summary

Metropolitan YMCA of the Oranges seeks a Controller to oversee day‑to‑day accounting, ensure strong internal controls, and maintain financial integrity across multiple locations. You will report to the CFO and partner with executives, operations, HR, and development to align financial goals with organizational mission.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s in Accounting/Finance (CPA or advanced degree preferred) and 7–10 years in nonprofit accounting, with audit leadership and close experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• CPA or advanced degree strongly preferred.
• 7–10 years of progressive accounting experience, including nonprofit or fund accounting.
• Experience leading audits and managing close processes.

Responsibilities

• Oversee general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll coordination, and balance sheet activities.
• Ensure timely monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes and accurate journal entries.
• Maintain GAAP and nonprofit accounting standards, internal controls, and financial reporting.
• Lead audits and liaise with external auditors; support risk management and process improvements.
