Job summary

YMCA of Greater New York seeks a Controller - Government to manage accounting for government contracts and related audits. The role reports to the VP Finance/CAO and leads a team in a hybrid environment.

Responsibilities include establishing internal controls, overseeing audits, coordinating billing and financial reporting, and ensuring GAAP compliance across government programs. CPA is required, MBA preferred, with experience in not-for-profit settings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting; CPA is required.

• MBA is desirable.
• Experience in not-for-profit accounting and government contracts is preferred.
• Proven ability to manage GAAP/compliance in government funding.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain accounting systems and controls for government contracts.
• Lead audits (government, CFR, Uniform Guidance).
• Coordinate monthly and yearly close and reporting in GAAP.
