Job summary

This role requires a Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance and 5+ years of nonprofit experience; CPA is preferred. Proficiency with QuickBooks Online, Blackbaud FENXT, Sage Intacct, and NetSuite is a plus. The position is full-time on-site in Indianapolis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field
• 5+ years of relevant experience in nonprofit accounting or consulting
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a diverse portfolio of nonprofit accounting and compliance consulting projects.
• Oversee end-to-end project management including planning, execution, and supervision of engagements related to process improvement, operational assessments, compliance, and financial reporting.
• Review and support accounting outsourcing services including: Preparation of general ledger entries and financial statements; Month-end and year-end close processes; Account and bank reconciliations; Audit readiness and support.
• Direct and participate in evaluations of Federal and State grant compliance, as well as other regulatory requirements.
• Conduct operational and financial assessments of clients' grants management, finance functions, internal controls, and related policies and procedures.
• Lead the development and implementation of financial and operational policies and procedures tailored to client needs.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for client engagements, managing communication, scheduling, and relationship development.
• Perform industry and technical research to support the development of innovative client solutions
• Leverage technology and best practices to enhance internal project workflows and client deliverables.
• Support business development efforts, including lead qualification, proposal development, and client relationship expansion.
• Utilize tools such as Outlook and social media platforms for client communications, including email campaigns and content distribution.
• Mentor, develop, and manage junior staff, fostering professional growth and ensuring high-quality project delivery.
