Job summary

NonProfit is seeking an Accounting Associate to support daily accounting operations, maintain accurate records, and assist with financial reporting. This role emphasizes fund accounting and donor-designated resources within a collaborative nonprofit environment.

The ideal candidate will have strong QuickBooks Online Advanced skills, high attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and with a team to improve processes and reporting.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably within a nonprofit or mission-driven organization.
• Strong proficiency with QuickBooks Online Advanced.
• Experience with fund accounting, including restricted funds and donor-designated resources.
• Knowledge of general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and Office 365 skills.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate accounting records using QuickBooks Online Advanced.
• Support general ledger activities, account reconciliations, and chart of accounts maintenance.
• Ensure accounting data integrity and accuracy across financial records.
• Prepare account schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting and analysis.
• Utilize Excel and Office 365 for reporting, analysis, and collaboration.
• Track and maintain restricted and designated funds in accordance with nonprofit accounting standards.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting workflows, efficiency, and reporting processes.
• Collaborate with internal teams to support overall financial operations.
