Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager on Duty to oversee the Non-Food Department and overall store operations when designated as MOD. The role emphasizes inventory management, effective merchandising, and delivering quality customer service while ensuring safety and asset protection.

The candidate will supervise in the absence of Store/Asst Store Manager, train employees, and uphold store standards including scheduling, stock presentation, and cash handling procedures.

Qualifications

• Must have basic math skills and ability to perform calculations.
• Cash handling and deposits control knowledge.
• Ability to operate cash register and process refunds/overrides.
• Understand safety policies and procedures.
• Knowledge of plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.

Responsibilities

• Manage Non-Food Department and store when designated as manager on duty.
• Authorize refunds and overrides; count register; ensure deposits.
• Assist in store financial integrity through cash controls and security practices.
• Supervise store operations in Manager/Asst Manager absence.
• Train associates in stocking, presentation, and hourly recovery standards.
• Ensure adequate scheduling coverage and staff development.
• Monitor merchandising, pricing, and signage accuracy.
• Oversee receiving, inventory, and checkout processes.
