Job summary

Dollar General Store is seeking a Manager on Duty to lead the Non-Food Department and overall store operations. You will ensure efficient inventory management, appealing merchandise presentation, and high-quality customer service.

Responsibilities include safeguarding assets, supervising cash handling, and aiding other managers as needed while maintaining a safe, clean environment for shoppers and employees alike.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 2–3 years of retail clerk experience preferred.
• Previous lead experience and/or grocery store experience preferred.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandising guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the Non-Food Department and manage the store when designated as manager on duty.
• Authorize refunds and overrides; count the register and deposit funds.
• Maintain cash accountability and adhere to security practices.
• Train and support Store Manager and Assistant Manager as directed.
• Ensure proper stocking, presentation, and adherence to hourly recovery standards.
• Assist with scheduling coverage and staff training.
• Monitor inventory, prevent damages, and manage POS/checkout processes.
• Direct and organize receiving, stocking, and staging for new deliveries.
