Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a store leader to manage the Non-Food Department and the overall store when designated as Manager on Duty. You will ensure accurate cash handling, training for staff, and adherence to safety and merchandising standards.

The role requires experience in retail operations, strong communication, and the ability to sustain efficient store performance and customer service. You will lead scheduling and assist in maintaining a secure shopping environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform cash handling with accuracy and deposit control.
• Ability to operate cash register functions and support store cash accountability.
• Strong interpersonal and oral & written communication skills.
• Understanding and following safety policies and procedures.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Non-Food Department and total store when designated as the Manager on duty.
• Authorize refunds and overrides; count register and deposit money in bank.
• Assist in maintaining financial integrity and security practices in the store.
• Provide training for employees and support Store/Assistant Manager as directed.
• Oversee stocking, merchandising presentation, and adherence to departmental standards.
• Coordinate scheduling coverage and monitor task completion with associates.
• Assist in training on proper execution of standards and loss prevention measures.
• Ensure proper receiving, staging, and organization of new merchandise.
• Maintain safe, clean, and organized store environment and equipment maintenance.
