Job summary

Vail Resorts in Paoli, Indiana, is hiring for Winter Seasonal Snowboard Instructors. Instructors will teach group and private lessons to guests of all ages, delivering safe, world-class service in a fun environment. Part-time hours are available; a 40-hour week is not guaranteed, with potential incentives to earn more.

Starting wage is $20/hr, and the role includes training and opportunities across multiple departments within the snow sports school. Must be 16+ and English-fluent.

Qualifications

  • Must be comfortable and competent snowboarding on groomed blue terrain.
  • Must be willing to work with guests of all ages and have a strong level of comfort with children aged 3 and older.
  • Must be able to communicate fluently in English.

Job Specifications
  • Starting Wage: $20/hr
  • Pay range reflects minimum base wages; instructors may have opportunities to earn more with additional teaching incentives

Job Requirements
  • Must be comfortable and competent snowboarding on groomed blue terrain
  • Must be willing to work with guests of all ages and have a strong level of comfort with children aged 3 and older
  • Must be able to communicate fluently in English
  • Must be willing to work weekends/holidays and meet minimum scheduling requirements.
  • Must be comfortable being in snowboard boots for extended period of time
  • Placement as an instructor is contingent upon successfully completing training and meeting the minimum skill, guest service, and safety standards.

As a Non-Certified Snowboard Instructor, you have the ability to be a flexible employee who works across multiple departments and in various roles to support the one-resort mentality which could include:

  • Lift Experience
  • Mountain Activities
  • Food and Beverage Support
  • Base Area Operations
  • Retail Rental Operations
Additional requirements for hires under age 18

Submission of a Parental Consent Form upon hire, along with other applicable documents required by state law; such as a work permit, physician's note, and/or proof of birthdate

The expected pay range is $20/hr. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
