Job summary

Hunter Mountain Ski Bowl, Inc. in Town of Hunter, NY, is seeking Non-Certified Ski Instructors for the 2026/2027 winter season. You will teach group and private lessons to guests of all ages, delivering world-class service with a focus on safety and fun on the slopes.

Starting wage is $20.00 per hour with opportunities for incentives. Part-time shifts with varying hours; housing may be available. Applicants must be at least 16, fluent in English, and able to work weekends/holidays.

Qualifications

• Must be able to communicate fluently in English.
• Must be comfortable skiing on groomed blue terrain.
• Placement as an instructor is contingent upon successfully completing training and meeting minimum skill, guest service, and safety standards.
• Minimum age 16 years.

Experience the best office in the world teaching Snowsports to guests of all ages. Instructors will deliver quality ski instruction to groups and individuals, providing world-class guest service in a safe and fun environment.

Job Specifications

• Starting Wage: $20.00/hr

• Pay range reflects minimum base wages; instructors may have opportunities to earn more with additional teaching incentives
• Employment Type: Winter Seasonal 2026/2027
• Shift Type: Part Time hours available. For Full-Time Instructors, a 40-hour workweek is not guaranteed. Scheduled hours will vary depending on business volume.

Job Requirements

• Must be comfortable and competent skiing on groomed blue terrain
• Must be willing to work with guests of all ages and have a strong level of comfort with children aged 3 and older
• Must be able to communicate fluently in English
• Must be willing to work weekends/holidays and meet minimum scheduling requirements.
• Must be comfortable being in ski boots for extended period of time
• Placement as an instructor is contingent upon successfully completing training and meeting the minimum skill, guest service, and safety standards.

Role

As a Non-Certified Ski Instructor, you have the ability to be a flexible employee who works across multiple departments and in various roles to support the one-resort mentality which could include:

• Lift Experience
• Mountain Activities
• Food and Beverage Support
• Base Area Operations
• Retail Rental Operations

Additional requirements for hires under age 18:

The expected pay range is $20.00/hr. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
