AdventHealth in Daytona Beach, FL is seeking a Full-time Call Center/Referral Specialist to provide compassionate patient support, manage referrals, and coordinate insurance verifications. The role supports timely patient care and requires strong computer skills, familiarity with regulatory standards, and prior call center experience.

Work primarily in a day shift at our Daytona Beach location, contributing to a patient-centered team that delivers seamless access to care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree preferred.

Responsabilités

• Answer inbound calls in a polite and professional manner.
• Coordinate referrals to determine next level of care for patients.
• Fax or call specialists' offices and patients regarding appointments.
• Verify insurance for prior authorizations and ensure in-network providers.
• Mail new patient paperwork and referral information to patients.
• Contact patients about in-progress or pending referrals.
• Maintain referral tracking and patient EHR documentation.
• Communicate with clinical staff and physicians about referrals or follow-up care.
• Ensure referrals are addressed timely to avoid delays in patient care.
• Complete insurance verification when applicable.

Job Description:

• Answers inbound phone calls in a polite and professional manner.
• Completes tasks from referring providers to find the next level of care for patients.
• Faxes or makes phone calls to specialists' offices and patients regarding appointments.
• Contacts insurance companies for prior authorizations and ensures referred providers are in-network.
• Mails new patient paperwork and referral information to patients.
• Contacts patients regarding any in-progress or pending referrals.
• Maintains ongoing tracking and appropriate documentation in the referral tracking database and the patient's EHR.
• Communicates with clinical staff and physicians about issues related to patient referrals or the need for further follow-up care.
• Ensures referrals are addressed in a timely, consistent, and organized manner to avoid delays in patient care.
• Completes insurance verification when applicable.
• Generates and mails self-pay letters to patients as directed.
• Provides a safe, quiet, and private work environment free from distractions.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Computer proficiency required-in Word, Excel, Outlook, etc. [Required]
• Must have knowledge of TJC requirements and local, state, and federal regulations. [Required]
• Call Center/Practice Telephonic Experience for In and Out bound calls. [Required]
• Medical Terminology [Preferred]

Education:

• High School Grad or Equiv [Required]
• Associate [Preferred]

Work Experience:

• Previous Call Center experience or similar experience [Required]
• 1+ experience as a ma-c or licensed nurse [Preferred]
• 1+ year experience as a lead role in a medical setting or other healthcare-related role [Preferred]
• Experience in various clinical areas inpatient or outpatient practices [Preferred]

Pay Range:

$16.79 - $26.86
