Job summary

HKA Enterprises in Washington, DC is seeking an experienced Night Shift Building Construction Inspector to support major building and civil construction projects. This role requires independent work during nighttime operations, with a strong focus on field inspection, contractor coordination, quality assurance, documentation, and construction safety.

You will work to ensure work complies with plans, specs, permits, codes, and contract documents, documenting findings daily.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of construction inspection experience in buildings or civil infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Perform field inspections of nighttime construction activities.
• Verify contractor compliance with plans, specs, permits, codes, and contract requirements.
• Monitor workmanship, materials, installation methods, and construction practices.
• Inspect earthwork, paving, utilities, structures, maintenance of traffic, and related civil infrastructure.
• Identify and document deficiencies, non-conforming work, and corrective actions.
• Coordinate and witness field testing performed by laboratories and specialty consultants.
• Review material certifications, test reports, and inspection documentation.
• Prepare detailed daily inspection reports and maintain electronic project records.
• Document contractor manpower, equipment, quantities, weather conditions, progress, and field observations.
• Maintain photographic records of construction activities and milestones.
• Monitor OSHA compliance and project safety procedures.
• Promote a strong safety and quality culture in the field.
