Job summary

ON-Board Services, Incorporated seeks a seasoned Night Shift Construction Inspector to support nighttime field inspections for building construction projects. The role is full-time and onsite, serving as the client’s representative in the field to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, safety requirements, and quality standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 10 years of construction inspection experience.
• Experience working independently during night shift construction operations.
• Strong understanding of construction plans, specifications, standards, and contract documents.
• Experience documenting field observations and preparing detailed inspection reports.
• Knowledge of OSHA safety requirements and industry best practices.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and electronic project documentation systems.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project locations.

Responsibilities

• Perform field inspections of construction activities during night shift operations.
• Verify compliance with approved plans, specifications, contract documents, permits, and applicable codes.
• Monitor contractor workmanship, construction methods, materials, and installation practices.
• Inspect earthwork, paving, utility installations, structures, maintenance of traffic, and related components.
• Identify and document deficiencies, non-conforming work, and required corrective actions.
• Coordinate and witness field testing activities performed by laboratories and specialty consultants.
• Review material certifications, test reports, and inspection records.
• Maintain detailed daily inspection reports and quality documentation.
• Monitor construction activities for OSHA compliance and safety plans.
