Job summary

HKA Enterprises seeks an experienced Night Shift Construction Inspector to support building and civil infrastructure projects. This on-site role performs field inspections during nighttime operations to ensure compliance with plans, specs, safety, and quality.

You’ll document findings, coordinate with contractors and labs, review test reports, maintain daily logs, and report schedule impacts and safety issues. 10+ years of inspection experience preferred.

Qualifications

Seeking an experienced Night Shift Construction Inspector to support building and civil infrastructure construction projects. This role provides field inspection services during nighttime operations, ensuring construction activities comply with project plans, specifications, safety requirements, and quality standards. This is a full-time, onsite night-shift position. Pay:$50.00 - $60.00 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform field inspections during night shift construction operations
• Verify compliance with plans, specifications, permits, and codes
• Monitor contractor workmanship, methods, materials, and installation practices
• Inspect earthwork, paving, utilities, structures, and traffic maintenance components
• Document deficiencies, non-conforming work, and corrective actions
• Coordinate and witness field testing by labs and specialty consultants
• Review material certifications, test reports, and inspection records
• Maintain daily inspection reports and quality documentation
• Monitor OSHA compliance and project safety procedures
• Document quantities, manpower, equipment, weather, and progress
• Maintain photographic records of construction activities
• Assist with punch lists, field memoranda, and non-compliance documentation
• Coordinate with contractors, engineers, utility companies, and client representatives
• Attend progress meetings and pre-construction briefings
• Provide updates on schedule impacts, quality concerns, and conflicts
• Track progress against schedules and flag potential delays
• Review work zone setups and traffic control devices

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED10+ years of construction inspection experience on buildings, civil infrastructure, or public works projects
• Demonstrated experience working independently during night shift operations
• Strong understanding of construction plans, specifications, and contract documents
• Experience documenting field observations and preparing inspection reports
• Knowledge of OSHA safety requirements and industry best practices
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic project documentation systems
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project locations

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
• Familiarity with agency documentation systems and electronic field reporting platforms

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Ability to walk uneven terrain, climb ladders, and access active construction areas
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during shift operations
• Ability to work night shifts, weekends, and occasional extended hours as required
