Job summary

Reed Smith LLP is seeking an IT Network Operations Center Technician to monitor and support the firm’s enterprise infrastructure within a 24x7x365 NOC environment. You will provide real-time situational awareness, Tier 1 support, and incident triage/escalation across networks, servers, storage, cloud, and applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology or equivalent work experience.
• Additional training/certification in relevant areas of study strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years experience in IT Operations in a large professional services environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, maintain, and ensure availability, performance, and stability of enterprise infrastructure in 24×7×365 NOC environment.
• Serve as escalation point for incidents, coordinating with internal teams, vendors and service providers to restore services.
• Execute incident management processes, including ticket creation, updates, resolution and escalation.
• Lead or support incident bridge calls, ensuring effective communication and timely resolution.
• Communicate with technical teams, end users and leadership using tools like O365, SharePoint; issue status updates per protocols.
• Monitor and troubleshoot cloud and network performance across data centers and office locations.
• Perform basic system administration across Windows and Linux environments.
• Identify and respond to security events and elevate as needed.
• Provide Tier 1 infrastructure support and act as escalation point for IT Help Desk.
• Support infrastructure projects including site builds, refreshes, and system turn-ups.
• Monitor critical facility systems (UPS, PDUs) for operational continuity.
• Execute approved changes following change management; assist with emergency changes.
• Contribute to problem management by addressing recurring issues and long-term solutions.
• Maintain documentation and generate operational reports (Excel, Word; Power BI).
• Participate in continuous improvement, training, and enterprise IT initiatives.
