Job summary

Transaction Network Services (TNS) seeks a NOC Technician to join our Network Operations Center in Massachusetts. You will answer incoming calls, document, isolate and resolve incidents across SS7, SIP, Diameter, IPX and IP networks, and manage incident tickets with a 7x24x365 shift schedule.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience, strong IP networking knowledge, and experience with tools like Remedy, SolarWinds, Splunk or Netreo.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
• Excellent English communication skills.
• Experience in a Network Operations Center or similar Operational Support environment.
• Strong IP networking and troubleshooting abilities.
• Ability to work 7x24, including nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Monitor network surveillance systems, respond to alarms and error conditions, and manage a phone queue with direct customer and vendor calls.
• Manage and resolve assigned incident tickets.
• Provide direct support to internal and external customers to mitigate service impact.
• Perform complex troubleshooting, fault isolation, root cause analysis, and incident management for SS7, SIP, Diameter, IPX and IP networks.
• Troubleshoot BGP peering and IP connectivity alarms.
• Troubleshoot Ethernet, DS0, DS1, DS3, and optical circuits using network devices.
• Interface with customers, carriers, and vendors; perform routine maintenance on network elements.
• Work a rotating 7x24x365 shift.
