NOC Engineer – 24/7 Network Operations

Job summary

Bluebird Fiber is seeking a NOC Engineer to monitor and troubleshoot our network for enterprise customers. You will coordinate with field teams, diagnose outages, and manage tickets to ensure timely restoration of services.

The role requires strong communication, familiarity with DWDM/MPLS, and the ability to work in a 24x7 environment. This is a full-time position based in our Midwest service area with potential travel as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 1 year in telecommunications or related technical training.
• Minimum 1 year experience in an NOC environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot impairments and outages with providers, vendors, and customers.
• Triage and document trouble tickets.
• Troubleshoot DWDM, MPLS, and SONET network equipment.
• Read and interpret CLR/DLRs.
• Perform remote fault resolution through Network Management Systems (NMS).
• Monitor network performance after maintenance and changes.
• Coordinate with Operations and Engineering for fast circuit activation.
• Provide network support to Data Center technicians.
• Keep customers updated with ticket progress and resolutions.
