Responsibilities
Peraton is seeking a NOC Associate Network Tools Engineer to join our team of qualified and diverse individuals.

This is a hybrid on-site position. Candidates must be local to Springfield or Ashburn, Virginia, or Orlando, Florida.
Day to Day Roles and Responsibilities:
Assist in configuring and managing network monitoring tools such as Riverbed, OpenText, Splunk, or other industry-standard solutions.
- Monitor CBP's network infrastructure to detect and troubleshoot connectivity, latency, and performance issues.
- Analyze network logs and traffic patterns to identify potential security threats or system anomalies.
- Support network automation initiatives using scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, etc.).
- Document configurations, procedures, and best practices related to network tools and monitoring systems.
- Assist in software upgrades, patches, and system enhancements to maintain operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with CBP network engineers and cybersecurity teams to enhance network security and compliance.
- Provide technical support and training for CBP personnel on network monitoring tools.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree and 5 years of experience or Masters degree and 3 years of experience or an Associates degree and 7 years of experience or a High School diploma and 9 years of experience.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a CBP Public Trust.
- Basic knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, etc.).
- Experience with network monitoring tools such as Riverbed, OpenText, Wireshark, or similar.
- Knowledge of Cisco Routing and Switching.
- Familiarity with cloud-based network monitoring (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Experience with IT service management tools like ServiceNow.
- Knowledge of automation and scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications such as CCNA, CompTIA Network+, or Security+.
- Riverbed, Netcool, SPLUNK, OpenText, other network monitoring tools.
