Are you mechanically inclined with a knack for hands-on work? Do you enjoy a flexible schedule and working independently, but also have the support of a team? The Equipment Service Technician is a remote-based, customer-facing role, primarily working inside hospitals. You will troubleshoot and repair medical equipment used in surgical procedures, and assist with installation of complex mechanical, electromechanical, and electronic units.

This division focuses on GI/Endoscopy low temperature washers, sterilizers, drying and storage cabinets, closely tied to STERIS's main product lines.

Individuals with experience in HVAC repair, mechanics, maintenance, refrigeration, boilers, chillers, equipment repair, diesel and automotive repair, aviation repair, plumbing, electrical, etc., are often successful in this role.

This is a remote, customer-facing position. Candidates must be based in Minnesota to support and service customers in this territory.

Responsibilities:

• Perform troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance of STERIS and competitor equipment.
• Manage time effectively, prioritizing customer and business needs independently.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to escalate issues and ensure compliance.
• Provide customers with information, pricing, and repair options; build relationships to drive customer satisfaction and revenue.
• Support various locations within the territory based on service agreements and customer needs.

Qualifications and Skills:

• High School Diploma or GED with 4+ years of relevant experience; technical certifications or military experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet credentialing requirements.
• Customer service and teamwork experience.
• Effective communication skills.
• Basic computer skills and data entry proficiency.
• Flexible schedule with potential overnight and early/late hours.
• Ability to meet hospital and customer credentialing standards.
