Job summary

MPI is seeking an Assistant Project Manager for commercial construction projects in North Jersey. The role supports Project Managers and field teams from preconstruction through closeout, with exposure to all phases of construction.

The ideal candidate will have a related bachelor's degree and 1–4 years of construction experience, with strong organizational and communication skills. A collaborative culture and opportunities for advancement are emphasized.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in construction-related field required
  • 1–4 years of construction experience preferred
  • Internship or co-op with a General Contractor is a plus
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Collaborative with project teams and clients
  • Eagerness to learn and grow within the construction industry

Responsibilities

  • Assist Project Managers with day-to-day project administration and coordination
  • Support project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and reporting activities
  • Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, architects, and stakeholders
  • Track project schedules and identify delays or issues
  • Monitor project costs and assist with budget management
  • Participate in project meetings and maintain documentation
  • Conduct occasional site visits to monitor progress and execution
  • Assist with procurement and material tracking
  • Support project closeout activities and turnover documentation
  • Ensure project information is organized, accurate, and up to date

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field
