Job summary

The People Concern seeks an Overnight Support Specialist to provide front-line, 100% onsite support for clients at the Lancaster Interim Housing program. You will respond to urgent client needs, monitor floors, and support safety and cleanliness across dorms and shared spaces.

You will apply trauma-informed care, harm reduction, and motivational interviewing while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to help clients progress toward stable housing.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of related work experience.
• Customer service skills are essential for handling client needs.
• Ability to work independently and think critically.
• Professional conduct and respect for clients and staff.
• Familiarity with non-violent crisis intervention is a plus.
• Commitment to empowering clients and maintaining confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Act as first point-of-contact for immediate client needs and requests.
• Monitor and oversee the floor and common areas to ensure safety and cleanliness.
• Be visible on the floor and engage with clients.
• Conduct regular walk-throughs of the facility.
• Develop trusting relationships with clients using client-centered approaches.
• Intervene during crises to de-escalate situations with safety in mind.
• Collaborate with team to provide integrated care.
