Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Recent library public service experience.
• Knowledge of library public services.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize work.
• Proficiency with Word and Excel; good internet and email skills.
• Willing to work night and weekend shifts.

Responsibilities

• Night/Weekend Library Service Operations: coordinate desk activities during evenings and weekends.
• Security: respond to alarms, follow policies, perform routine checks, assist in emergencies.
• Supervision: oversee 10–15 student assistants and coordinate projects.
• Training: train student employees on circulation and access services functions.
• Procedures: write training materials and procedural documents.
• Equipment & Shelving: manage daily operations of access equipment and shelving tasks.
• Building: monitor building activity outside regular hours and report issues.
• User Support: assist patrons and escalate issues to staff as needed.
• Library Programming Support: plan events, assist with data collection and reporting.
