Job summary

California Lutheran University seeks an Evening Circulation Coordinator to support Pearson Library’s patron-centered services in circulation, course reserves, stacks maintenance, and building access. You will supervise student staff on evenings and weekends, ensuring safety and smooth operations in a dynamic academic library.

The role involves using the library management system (OCLC WorldShare) to circulate materials, enforce policies, train staff, and coordinate with campus partners.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and one year of experience in a customer-facing service position, or three years of experience in a library support position.
  • Experience with library management operating systems and applications such as OCLC WorldShare.
  • Experience with supervisory/ managerial responsibilities and commitment to customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Create a welcoming, safe environment for library patrons and staff during evening hours.
  • Use OCLC WorldShare Management Services to circulate materials and manage patron accounts.
  • Enforce circulation policies and procedures and contribute to them as needed.
  • Manage lost/overdue workflows and reintegrate materials into the collection.
  • Assist with hiring, training, daily supervision, scheduling, and evaluating student assistants.
  • Maintain and update the Course Reserve service and track reserve statistics.
  • Ensure library security by coordinating with Campus Safety during evenings.
