Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is hiring an Afterhours Registered Nurse to deliver comprehensive hospice care for patients and families after regular hours. The role includes triage calls, afterhours visits, and evaluating eligibility within 48 hours of referral.

Requires RN licensure in the state, a valid driver’s license, and CPR certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days). Salary ranges reflect full-time employment with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Current unrestricted RN licensure in the state of practice
• Current driver's license, valid vehicle insurance, and access to a dependable vehicle, or public transportation
• CPR certification or ability to complete within 90 days of hire
• 1+ years of clinical experience

Responsibilities

• Triage patient needs over the phone until a nurse can visit in person
• Respond to crisis calls after hours with urgency
• Perform initial nursing evaluation to determine hospice eligibility within 48 hours of referral
• Conduct afterhours visits including admissions, death, recertification, and routine visits
• Assess and reassess patient/family needs every 15 days and adjust plan accordingly
• Document problems, goals, interventions, and responses to care
• Provide care in diverse home settings regardless of background
