Job summary

Cooley Dickinson Hospital, Inc. in Northampton, MA is hiring a Patient Care Associate (PCA) for a 24-hour shift: 7pm–7:30am. The PCA provides direct and some non-direct patient care, plus clerical and unit duties, and may serve as a 1:1 observer for safety.

Telemetry/CCU duties include completing the arrhythmia course and maintaining telemetry competency. The position is in the 1199SEIU Bargaining Unit and reports to the Nurse Manager.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current BLS certification.
• Ability to perform routine patient care under supervision.
• Nursing/medical assistant credentials or active nursing student with 6+ months experience.
• 1–3 years secretarial or healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and non-direct patient care tasks.
• Assist with clerical, supply, and messenger duties.
• May function as a 1:1 observer for patient safety.
• Complete arrhythmia courses and maintain telemetry competency.
