Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2–3 years of related retail experience.
• 1 year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in meat, bakery, produce or deli.
• Ability to communicate clearly and provide direction.
• Ability to resolve conflicts and address root causes.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and analyze data.
• Experience in suggestive selling and safety practices.
• Certification requirements completed.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct and supervise team members in day-to-day store operations.
• Mentor and coach team members to meet service and sales goals.
• Staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Promote succession planning and development paths.
• Document disciplinary actions and discharge recommendations.
• Manage P&L, achieve sales targets and control shrink.
• Maintain store appearance, product presentation and standards.
• Ensure a safe work environment and reliable attendance.
• Communicate the Meijer Friendly Initiative in meetings.
