Job summary

Meijer Inc. in Indiana is seeking a Store Manager to lead daily operations across departments, mentor staff, and ensure exceptional customer service while driving sales and maintaining company standards.

You will oversee staffing, training, and performance, manage P&L responsibilities, and implement strategies to optimize store appearance and efficiency during peak hours. Strong communication, conflict resolution, and financial analysis skills are essential, with a focus on career development

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Experience rotating through store areas such as meat, bakery, produce and deli.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and provide direction.
• Ability to resolve conflicts and manage multiple tasks.
• Ability to analyze financial and statistical information for decisions.
• Experience mentoring team members across roles.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct and supervise team members in daily store operations.
• Mentor and coach staff; implement strategies to improve service and sales.
• Staffing, selection and hiring to meet needs.
• Promote career development and succession planning.
• Document disciplinary actions and supervise discharge decisions.
• Responsible for P&L, sales goals and controlling shrink.
• Maintain store appearance and product presentation during peak hours.
• Model fast, friendly customer service and communicate initiatives.
