Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in other areas of the store and customer service/product flow experience is helpful.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly to team members.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve conflict and address root causes.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial and statistical information and use that information to make informed decisions.

Responsibilities

• Plans, directs and supervises team members in day-to-day operations within various departments of the store.
• Serves as mentor and coach for all team members.
• Implements strategies to improve customer service and drive store sales while meeting customer needs and ensuring quick, efficient service.
• Maintains store appearance with focus on prime shopping hours, product presentation and company standards.
• Staffing, selection, and hiring to achieve staffing needs.
• Promotes succession planning by developing team members and involvement in promotion decisions.
• Documents and applies disciplinary actions and makes recommendations concerning discharge.
• Responsible for P&L, achieving sales and maintaining shrink for the department.
• Models exceptional, fast and friendly customer service.
• Mentors and coaches team members to exceed goals and ensure Meijer standards.
• Ensures team is thoroughly trained and spends time in-store engaging with customers and employees.
• Promotes a safe work environment and reliable attendance.
