Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Per Diem Polysomnographic Technician at Winchester Hospital to conduct diagnostic sleep studies and therapeutic services while educating patients on sleep disorders.

The role includes room preparation, electrode application per AASM standards, and PSG monitoring. Registry-eligible BRPT candidates are encouraged to apply; employment may require 1-year credentialing within a year of hire.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited polysomnography program of at least 1 year in duration with relevant licensure or accreditation.
• Experience meeting ASTEP/BRPT eligibility within the hire period.
• Preferred: AS degree in Respiratory Care or EEG-related training.

Responsibilities

• Gathers and analyzes patient information by reviewing physician orders for tests.
• Greets patients and assists with questionnaire completion.
• Explains pretesting, testing and post-testing procedures to patients.
• Prepares room and equipment and verifies proper function per guidelines.
• Applies electrodes and sensors according to AASM guidelines.
• Monitors sleep study and ensures proper PSG channel function.
• Transfers sleep studies to the server and assists with billing processes.

Education

Polysomnographer program (1 year)

ASTEP/BRPT eligibility

CAAHEP/CoARC polysomnography training

Associates in Respiratory Care or EEG training (preferred)
