Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health, Inc. is seeking a Polysomnographic Technologist (Sleep Tech) for Winchester Hospital on a full-time night shift (36 hours).

The role involves diagnostic sleep studies, therapeutic services, and patient education to aid in diagnosing sleep disorders. Qualified candidates will complete an accredited polysomnography program (1 year+), be registry-eligible, and work with the Sleep Center team to provide accurate studies and patient care, including CPAP/BiPAP and oxygen

Qualifications

• Successful completion of a nationally recognized accredited Polysomnographer program of no less than one year duration.
• Experience consistent with ASTEP program and prerequisites to sit BRPT exam or enrollment in polysomnography training.
• Registry-eligible upon hire; must become BRPT or equivalent credential within one year.
• BLS certification preferred or required.

Responsibilities

• Gathers and analyzes patient information by reviewing physician orders for testing.
• Greets patient and assists with completing patient questionnaire.
• Explains pretesting, testing and post-testing procedures to patients.
• Prepares room and equipment; verifies proper function and adjusts as necessary.
• Applies electrodes and sensors according to guidelines; ensures proper setup.
• Performs sleep study and monitors PSG channels throughout the study.
• Documents sleep stages and events; notes any changes.
• Initiates therapeutic interventions (CPAP/BiPAP/oxygen) when indicated.
• Transfers sleep studies to server and processes billing charges.
