Job summary

Valmont Industries in Brenham, TX, is hiring a Welder for the 3rd shift (11 PM–7 AM) to perform production welding and assembly of pole shafts using the GMAW process. Starting pay is $24.47 per hour with a $1.00 per hour shift differential and potential step pay increases at 90 days, 1 year and 2 years.

The role requires reading drawings, handling components up to 50 pounds, and maintaining safety and certification standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and write English.
• Ability to use common manufacturing math.
• 6 months welding experience in manufacturing or completion of welding program.
• Must pass GMAW 1-G flat plate/rotational weld test and maintain certification.

Responsibilities

• Set up and tack weld components for pole shaft assemblies using the GMAW process.
• Position shafts and components with jib crane and assistive equipment up to 50 pounds.
• Read drawings to determine parts and attach small components as required.
• Use plasma torch to cut steel and drill/finish parts per specs.
• Measure distances and angles with tape, levels, and squares; ensure accuracy in assembly.
