Job summary

Veolia Group, a global leader in environmental services, seeks a Wastewater Plant Operator to control and monitor wastewater treatment systems for permitted industrial discharge. The role emphasizes strong mechanical aptitude, teamwork, and effective communication to ensure compliant operation and data recording.

Responsibilities include operating pumps and valves, testing samples, analyzing lab data, and coordinating maintenance with internal teams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to follow instructions on wastewater processes.
• Willingness to work 12-hour night shifts and operate plant systems.

Responsibilities

• Maintain operational coverage of the wastewater facility during scheduled shifts (primarily 12-hour night shifts).
• Operate motors, pumps, and valves to regulate flow and collect samples for testing.
• Analyze lab data and implement process changes to prevent non-compliance; maintain records.
• Coordinate with operators, facility, and management to maintain equipment and determine treatment methods.
• Complete preventative maintenance and assist with minor maintenance tasks (chem pumps, valves, piping).
• Compile data for daily/weekly/monthly reports for Veolia and regulators as needed.
• Coordinate with purchasing for supplies and with facility for third-party maintenance support.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
