Job summary

Veolia in North America seeks a wastewater plant operator to support day-to-day facility operations, perform rounds, record data, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance. The role involves monitoring equipment, recording readings, and assisting with preventive actions under supervision.

The incumbent will work a scheduled shift, handle logs, and communicate observations to the supervisor. A high school diploma and basic technical skills are required; an associate degree is preferred for

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED is required.
• Associate degree (or equivalent experience) in Environmental Science, Engineering, Biology/Laboratory or related fields preferred.

Responsibilities

• Record and read meters for pumps, gauges, motors, etc., in compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Record tank levels and sludge blanket levels.
• Operate equipment at the workstation (GBT, BFP, overhead lifting jib crane, pumps).
• Open, close and adjust valves for tanks and pumps.
• Maintain a station logbook and create work requests for malfunctioning equipment.
• Troubleshoot operational issues and report to supervisor for approval.
