Job summary

SpartanNash Military is seeking a Distribution Center Manager to lead daily DC operations, including labor planning, shipping/receiving, and facility upkeep. You will collaborate across functions to resolve issues, monitor KPIs and budgets, and drive process improvements to meet service goals.

You will develop strong relationships with customers and internal teams, supervise staff, enforce safety standards, and ensure compliance with company policies while managing schedules and cost controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Five years distribution center experience; two years supervisory/management experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organization, prioritization and multi-tasking skills.
• Good leadership abilities with capability to work in a hands-on environment.
• Strong analytical, decision-making, problem-solving and business acumen skills.
• Ability to work across business units and with cross-functional teams.
• Knowledge of distribution center operations and warehouse management systems.
• Proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Ability to travel up to 15% as necessary.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day management of distribution center operations including labor management, shipping/receiving, and facility maintenance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional departments to resolve issues promptly.
• Review operational reports (KPI, productivity, budget) to meet goals.
• Develop improvement plans with distribution management to exceed objectives.
• Maintain relationships with customers and internal teams on delivery schedules and service levels.
• Generate and summarize reports related to shipments, rebates, and customer activity.
• Ensure uniform warehouse processes per policy to ensure on-time delivery and accuracy.
• Train and guide warehouse staff; manage staffing and performance within the department.
• Promote safety and security and coordinate with maintenance, HR and risk teams.
• Monitor budgets and expenditures and advise on capital needs as required.
