Job summary

IDEXX is seeking a Veterinary Medical Laboratory Technician to join our NORTH GRAFTON, MA lab. You will perform analyses using automated analyzers and microscopes to aid in diagnosing animal illnesses, with daily blood, urine, fecal, or biopsy testing and results release per SOPs.

The role emphasizes precision, teamwork, and a positive attitude, with a start window between December 15 and December 31 and a full-time, third-shift schedule (11:30pm–8:00am) with potential Saturday rotations.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required; 2-, 3-, or 4-year degree in a science-related field preferred
• Experience in a lab setting or as Veterinary Technician (RVT, LVT, CVT) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT or MT) is a plus
• Experience setting up, running, and reading lab tests and operating lab equipment (microscopes, pipetting, diagnostic analyzers) preferred
• Skills in Hematology, Chemistry, Serology, Urinalysis or Cytology; ability to work with analyzers used in these departments such as Sysmex and Cellavision, Beckman, Immulite, Hamilton, Novus
• Positive attitude, team player, detail-oriented, reliable and precise
• Ability to meet physical requirements of lab work (standing/sitting, extended reach, lifting up to 50lb, vision requirements)

Responsibilities

• Use automated analyzers, microscopes, and other lab diagnostic tools to perform analyses that support Veterinary treatment
• Perform diagnostic tests on blood, urine, fecal, or biopsy samples received by the lab
• Set up and run lab tests, then read and release results according to SOPs
• Possibly specialize in an assigned department and explore related lab areas
